I just wanted to say that I had a great time last night. It was so nice to chat with all of you smart & interesting women - makes me wonder how I got in! : ) I always look forward to it. I am a big reading slacker compared to some of you, so I love that book club motivates me to keep picking up something new.
I thought that we should start posting some of our recipes that we bring to book club since there is always great food! Stacy and I had a thing with caramel apple treats last night. Here is my recipe and I would love to see Stacy's recipe too - it was really good.
Caramel Apple Dip
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. brown sugar
Chopped pecans
Caramel ice cream topping
Beat cream cheese with brown sugar; form into ball & cover with pecans. Drizzle with caramel topping. (Mine seemed WAY to soft and sticky to roll in nuts so I just added them on top, but I thought it turned out fine anyway.)

I also enjoyed talking with everyone the other night. Seems like book club is getting to be one of my only outlets for adult conversation. I save up my grown-up words for weeks at a time! You are all just lucky to get a word in edgewise.
I'm so glad you posted your recipe for the dip. You always bring the yummiest food. I will definitely be trying this one.
Great idea to post recipes! We had especially yummy food at this one. The conversation was the main attraction, however. I love discussing books almost as much as I love reading them.
I wish I could say that my recipe was original...however, it's courtesy of Paula Dean! Here is the link
