This book by Yann Martel is one of my favorites. As a fan of magical realism, I completely went with the talking tigers and islands of meerkats, but that might be a problem for others. I've heard they're going to make a movie of this book, but I'm not sure how well the material would translate. What do you think?

I actually checked this out from the library not long ago, started it, and then accidentally returned it. Oops.

This is one of my all time favorite books. I started re-reading it the minute I finished it. I bet they could make a cool movie from it, but it would need to be one of those artsy hard to understand type of movies. It couldn't star, say- that kid from Jerry McGuire or anything.
